So far, while here, I have met Kristy from Australia, as well as Vickie who resides in the USA. A third international patient from Edmonton by the name of Maja just arrived here today with here mom. I hope to get to know here a bit more as she becomes more settled in.
Tomorrow is somewhat of a low key day as well. My main event for the day will be the insertion of the internal jugular catheter. Oh boy! Sounds like a party! Nothing much to it and this will be the main point of access for all blood draws, chemotherapy and IV fluids which may have to be put into or taken from me from this point onwards. The benefit of having this is that there is not any continual poking and jabbing with needles, and because the cannula essentially rests next to the heart, there is extremely rapid dispersal of all substances throughout the body.
Since there is not all that much happening here today, I thought I may leave you with a few pics of the journey and our new friends!
Love from Moscow!
